These charges are the buyer’s responsibility as we are only charging the transportation fee for your order. Safety Information For E-Cigarette Batteries
At Vape Shop, customer safety is our top priority, and we aim to ensure you enjoy a safe, reliable vaping experience. As vaping continues to evolve, it’s increasingly important for users to understand basic vape battery safety and how to handle devices responsibly.
While vaping is not considered dangerous when used correctly, the main safety risks come from vape batteries. This guide has been created to help you stay informed and reduce the risk of accidents when using any of our battery-powered products.
About Lithium Ion Vape Batteries
Lithium-ion vape batteries are used safely in millions of devices worldwide every day. However, like all high-energy cells, they must be handled correctly to avoid risk.
Damage, overcharging, short-circuiting, exposure to water, or physical wear can all increase the risk of failure. While many vape batteries include built-in protection circuits, these should never be relied on as the only safety measure.
What are battery mAh and amps?
mAh (milliampere-hour) measures how much energy a vape battery can store and deliver over time. For example, a 3000 mAh battery can deliver 3000 milliamperes for one hour before it is depleted.
Understanding this helps you choose the right vape batteries for your device and usage style.
How do I identify the right amp level for my battery?
Never exceed the manufacturer’s recommended charging or discharge limits.
As a simple guide, you can estimate safe output by moving the decimal point three places left from the mAh rating.
For example: 3000 mAh becomes approximately 3.0A maximum safe continuous rating.
What do I need to know about storing vape batteries safely?
- Always purchase vape batteries from reputable retailers.
- Do not expose batteries to extreme heat or cold.
- Do not leave batteries in vehicles for long periods.
- Do not carry loose batteries in pockets or bags.
- Always store vape batteries in a protective case when not in use.
- Keep batteries clean, dry, and away from metal objects such as keys or coins.
- Do not store batteries in direct sunlight.
How can I avoid damaging a vape battery?
- Do not dismantle, crush, or puncture vape batteries.
- Do not expose batteries to impact or mechanical stress.
- Do not short-circuit terminals.
Charging vape batteries safely
- Only use recommended chargers designed for vape batteries.
- Avoid third-party or incompatible charging adapters.
- Do not leave vape batteries charging unattended or overnight.
- Do not overcharge or leave batteries on charge for extended periods.
- Monitor batteries while charging wherever possible.
- Replace vape batteries every 3–6 months depending on use and condition.
What do I do if my vape battery is damaged or leaking?
- Never use a damaged or leaking vape battery.
- Dispose of it safely at an approved battery recycling point.
- Avoid contact with any leaking fluid.
- If contact occurs, wash immediately with water and seek medical advice.
Can you recycle vape batteries?
Yes, vape batteries can and should be recycled. Never dispose of them in general household waste. Instead, take them to a designated battery recycling point or local recycling centre to ensure safe handling and environmental protection.
How long do vape batteries last?
The lifespan of vape batteries depends on usage, charging habits, and device type. On average, most vape batteries last several months of regular use before performance begins to decline.
If you notice reduced battery life, slower charging, or inconsistent power output, it may be time to replace your vape battery.
General points to remember
- Seek medical advice immediately if a battery is swallowed.
- Always dispose of vape batteries and packaging responsibly.
- Use products only within manufacturer guidelines.
- Keep original instructions for future reference.
- Nicotine is a poison and must be handled responsibly.
It is against the law to sell any electronic cigarette products to under 18’s.
We are authorised to use any personal information, provided by you, to carry out and conduct relevant age verification checks. For added security we use two age verification providers when making checks.
1) We use 1account as an extra layer of age verification. Where you have asked us to provide an age-restricted product or service, you consent to allow us to share your information with, and collect information from, One Account Mobile Limited (1account) and third-party providers of identity data to 1account. This consent is necessary for 1account to verify that you meet the minimum age and identity verification requirements as determined by relevant UK age restriction legislation. You consent to allow 1account to retain relevant data for the purpose of future verification.
All data processed by 1account is subject to appropriate security measures. Data retained by 1account is subject to periodic review to ensure it is not held for longer than necessary. They will not run a credit check and you can rest-assured that your personal information is in trusted hands. They are used by a host of well-established companies, including eBay, who use their services for all of their age verification checks.
At times the age verification check may fail or be referred. In these scenarios we could request passport/driving license details from you to re-check your details manually against the relevant database to verify age. If you do not wish to release this information to us we can cancel and refund your order.
If you are experiencing difficulty verifying your details via the instructions sent to you, please follow the guideline below to verify your details;
* You will have received an email from 1Account, which includes a link to follow to verify your details. Please check your junk folder if you cannot see an email from 1Account.
* You will then be asked to verify your details by a number of means; Mobile Phone, Credit Card, Debit Card, UK Driving Licence, Citizencard, National DB or Electoral Roll.
* Entering your mobile phone number is the quickest way to verify your order, alternatively, please enter your details when prompted, for which ever option is selected.
* Once verified, your order will be submitted and dispatched. You will not need to verify your details again when placing a future order, providing you log into your account as normal, and your details do not change.
Please refer to the data protection section of our terms and conditions for information on how we handle data.
*Please note if for any reason you fail age verification there is a strong possibility that your order will be delayed, if this occurs please contact customer services immediately on 01733 666441 or email hello@vapeshop.co.uk
